Mayi
seeks to create jewelry for the classic woman with an eclectic and
adventurous side. Using beautiful stones of all colors and cuts, they
are combined in a multitude of ways to appeal to different women. The
collection is sure to please by offering everything from large statement necklaces to simple earrings that are ideal for everyday wear.
Ana Mari Ortega’s interest in jewelry began during her college years in Washington, DC. A Miami native, Ana needed an activity that could keep her indoors during the winter. Jewelry soon turned into more than a distraction,and when she returned home to Miami in the summer of 2008, the brand was officially launched under the name Mayi, her childhood nickname.
Ana has trained under goldsmiths in both Washington, DC and Miami and continues her training at Miami International University of Art & Design, where she is pursuing a degree in accessory design.
